Sounds like they should have consulted an IT person about their IT previously. When it comes to business, don’t mess around - especially when you can’t afford to pay your mortgage or get into your bank or whatever.
But tbh you should be able to get around most roadblocks, like the bank for example, by getting on the phone with them. Or going in person. Just a pain in the ass more than anything.
