Funny how you assume how much time is enough when you have no idea who I am and what I have going on lol

Exactly. No thanks. Nothing is ever “free”.

Switching distros was not on my agenda. 🙃
I got a stack of Lenovo tinys in my cupboard 🤣. I’ve put a few to good use.

I’d be all in on community driven networks if one existed around here. Perhaps I need to start…
“Oh ya here’s the community Plex server. Heres our community forum.”
Etc.
I’m imagining at some point a fediverse of small community owned networks.

Mastadon was mentioned.

My gripe on a browser is I want one that whe. I click a link it’s opened in a container by default so it can’t scoop up all my cookies and browsing history.
Right now my flow is Firefox focus as default browser, then if it’s a page I want to view later or keep open I share it to Firefox. Kind of annoying but ideally I have this in just one browser.
And as I write this and checked, Firefox for Android now does this lol. Vivaldi, the one recommended in the article does not. Not to mention I try and support something that is not chrome-based. We need alternatives

Fuck I gotta stop doing to BK now too?

Regular folks. Tbh I default my clients to it lol. Syncs their shit in PC upgrades which makes it easier for me. If they install something else, whatever.

Oh, you mean Microsoft 365 where UIs all clash, familiar buttons are moved every other month or put into a different admin center, and how disjointed the whole platform is when you want to administer the whole thing? You don’t say…

True, but then you gotta rip it and store it

That’s cool I guess. I have a shelf full of switch games. And a NAS full of hundreds of movies, tv shows, audio books, music and more. I’ll take digital so long as I’m in control.

You can save a few bucks a month though if you have Microsoft business premium copilot windows app Xbox Live pro plus plus though. Maybe look at that SKU instead. It also includes Microsoft 365 office productivity pro plus with copilot

I miss computing in the early 2000s. You could do so much and your OS worked with you instead of aggressively trying to gobble up all your personal information to feed AI and hoard it all to turn it against you to target you with ads or put you in a box when you shop somewhere.

I’d been going on and off Linux for years for personal computing. In 2012 I was full switched, and didn’t give windows another look until sometime in covid when I was playing through doom eternal or something. Had an annoying bug on Linux where if I ever switched virtual desktops it would freeze.
So I was only using my computer at this time to play doom and used windows for this time.
Then windows 11 came out. And I had to use it for work too. I can’t believe at this stage we have this level of bugs and glitches and ignored quirks for so long. When I booted back to Linux I think I made an audible sigh of relief.
It’s honestly crazy how much better it is. No bullshit on waiting for cloud shit to sync and auto updates for printer software, VPN clients, and other bullshit software. It’s all just there and waiting for you to use it and update it at your leisure.

The shitty part is it’s your tax dollars you’re smashing, but you’d think they’d get the hint and just give up on it.

That’s alarming, but how much can these really vary? I’d be surprised if a lot of vehicles weren’t the same.
Ya I used to do this but didn’t for this install. I think I’m just going to make a new partition or slap in another disk for the OS and my out the manjaro disk as my home and blow away the rest of the OS.
