Three national surveys reveal how factors such as gender, age, political alignment and income are correlated with support for white nationalism in the United States.

I have to wonder why the liberal media find the term “white nationalism” more acceptable than white supremacism.

Liberalism always try to blame fascism on nationalism in the hopes of obscuring the paternal relationship between liberalism and fascism.

Every white nationalist is a white supremacist. It’s inherent in the desire to have the nation just for them. There are white supremacists that aren’t white nationalists, but that’s mostly just because they aren’t thinking that big.

There’s no reason for nuance when the effect of that nuance is to downplay the core issue. If people were viewing nationalism as a more organized and impactful form of virulent racism then it might make sense, but it’s mostly just an effort to rebrand white supremacy from tatted up skinhead neo-Nazis to Polo shirts and tiki torches, because the latter’s grooming is more specifically compatible with “polite society” and a “marketplace of ideas”.

Every rectangle is a square, not all squares are rectangles. Plenty of white supremacists that also believe the govt can’t be trusted - Trump in power or no.

No shit?! Look at Mr Big fuckin brain over here reasoning out the dreadfully obvious! Go figure white nationalism is a more nuanced descriptive label. Also good job stating why your argument is fuckin dumb as shit.

There are white supremacists that aren’t white nationalists, but that’s mostly just because they aren’t thinking that big.

So why do we call them white nationalists? Because it’s more descriptive and still calls them a white supremacist. Which leaves the question why do you insist on less adjectives, less descriptors, and less nuance? Are you somehow offended by being wrapped in with white nationalists? I have my guess and I’m betting it’s pretty fuckin accurate.

Lol, Mr. Nuance is Good jumping to the most insane conclusion possible while actively ignoring the direct words that answer “why wouldn’t you want to called them nationalists vs. supremacists”.

The media sanitizes white supremacy, because calling it what it is causes unpleasant cognitive dissonance in Jane from the suburbs whose clean cut son watches the same “urban decay” news stories she does but doesn’t use the euphemisms to pretty it up. White supremacists are tattooed gang members, not her precious little boy. People have a baked in view about white supremacists being bad guys, but with a simple change of label they’re able to pretend this is a brand new thing. This whole thread is about how comfortable the media is with using “nationalist” vs. “supremacist” and it’s not because they think “nationalist” is a worse term that will shock the reader.

I answered that question, I prefer it because it’s more descriptive. It’s saying why wouldn’t you describe mud as only dirt instead of wet dirt.

Holy fucking shit. White nationalism is my fucking definition white supremacy the phrase simply adds a descriptor for detail. I you can’t possibly be this dumb, I refuse to believe it.

Votes don’t matter in any sort of inherent sense of worth way. We’re both people who have and express opinions. But if I was getting universally downvoted for my opinion like you are, I think I’d take a moment of self-reflection before coming to the conclusion that everyone you interact with is an illiterate asshole.

And seriously, if you’re going to jump to a “you’re dumb” insult, starting the comment off with “Bro” and following with misspellings and bad grammar isn’t really giving it the punch you imagine. But hey, maybe it really is everyone else who’s the problem in this conversation.

White supremacism is larger than white nationalism.

White nationalists want a white ethnostate, or at least segregation in their country, which is perceived as inherently white.

White supremacists believe the “white race” is “superior”. It is more a philosophical stand than a political one.

An example where the difference matters is south Africa’s apartheid, which was white supremacism applied, but wouldn’t be classified as white nationalism.

Another is countries with a mostly white population, where white nationalism has no meaning, but white supremacism can still exist.

And they are being driven into wanting this by something other than white supremacism, perhaps?

An example where the difference matters is south Africa’s apartheid, which was white supremacism applied, but wouldn’t be classified as white nationalism.

            LOOL!

You’re talking to somebody who remembers Apartheid in the bone - because I was there.

And no… the (alleged) “difference” does not matter because there was - and still is - none.

And you should read my first sentence, perhaps?

White nationalists are white Supremacists, not true the other way around, particularly when nation is a word with a meaning.

But since you know it all… There is no point in discussing this further.

Very well… let’s have a look at your first sentence then, shall we?

White supremacism is larger than white nationalism.

That was it, am I correct?

So, if it’s true that “white supremacism is larger than white nationalism” - as you claim it to be - explain to me why white liberal media is going out of it’s way to minimise white supremacism in this way?

Hey, I was just trying to clear out a definition for you.

You are getting your hatred in the way, which is a shame. That rethorical question is just passive agressive and has no link to the definitions or your refusal of understanding the difference of scope.

For my own purpose, racists are pieces of shit, whatever flavor they come in, but knowing the flavors is a way of optimizing local fights as I live in an area with an unfortunate large number and diversity of fascists. If you are not interested in the subject, it’s your problem, not mine.

              No dipshit.

A white nationalist is always a white supremacist whereas a white supremacist isn’t always a white nationalist. One is a derivation or extension of the other you fuckin nupty. Theres an obvious difference between wanting genocide and wanting ethnically separated nations, if you can’t see that I think it speaks volumes about you as a person.

No white nationalism is more accurate.

Since you apparently can’t think of or figure out what words mean on your own I’ll spoon feed it to your dumb ass as you so demand.

A white supremacist may want a country with whites at the top and everyone else below as chattel ie the antebellum south eg Israels treatment of Arab isrealis.

A white nationalist wants a white nation, no minorities just white. Ie. Ethnic cleansing eg Israel in Gaza just replace non white with Palestinian.

I can’t express how fucking stupid you’re being but trust me you’re being a proper fucking idiotic shill.

Who could have seen this coming after by ung white males have been demonized

No, I’m not an incel, far from it. Just saying that for about the past decade it’s been very visible on the internet that all white males are racist sexist achool shooters unless proven otherwise.

I’ve seen at least for five years that many young guys lack good example figures and so they go fins them themselves and they find shits like Andrew Tate.

Now were all pikacho surprised that so many young guys are going for fascism? What did people expect would happen?

It’s been much longer than that. This is the outcome of capitalism, nationalism, and imperialism coming home to roost.

What did people expect would happen?

I think almost everyone knew this was gonna happen, and that’s why we were very vocally fighting against it. Maybe if white males hadn’t been assholes, who were terrorizing everyone else, people wouldn’t have demonized them.

I say this, as a white male. We’ve had immense privilege, for a long time, and have squandered it. Now that people are increasingly able to voice their frustations about that, we’re throwing a hissy fit about how everyone else is “being so mean” to us.

        Antisemite!

Maybe if black men hadn’t been assholes, who were terrorizing everyone else, people wouldn’t have demonized them.

        Racist!

Maybe if asian women hadn’t been assholes, who were terrorizing everyone else, people wouldn’t have demonized them.

        Stop it already!

I say this, as a white male. I’ve had no privilege, for a long time, and have worked hard to get the little that I have
