Everything is extreme right compared the insanity we’ve been dealing with for the last decade

In fact, this will likely work in their favor. Since they managed to secure nearly 45% of the vote, if there’s a coalition with the CDU becoming the ruling party having gained a mere 17%, it’s just going to further discredit the whole system.

from what i’ve seen so far, they seem to be able to do quite a lot of what they want simply by capturing the legislative branch, it doesn’t even look that bad. germany is already too flirty with israel so far in the first place, might be over already.

Idk, from what I’ve seen the people in East Germany aren’t really Nazis some are, but lots of them have just lost so much faith in electoral politics and the AfD have never been in power so they’re just like fuck it, might as well let them try. The AfD was utilizing nostalgia for the DDR.

Yep, politics is run by rich clever people, and they’re not really bound by borders 🤷‍♂️

they may not be nazis, but they’re not communists either. there are practically no communists in germany now. there’s nobody to serve as a counterweight to all the various fascist parties (pro-establishment fascists like the CDU and that other one, anti-establishment-vibes-having fascists like AFD). with the so called respectable mainstream parties also taking their policies and rhetoric from AFD on a ton of issues, there’s no chance of anything ever shifting left. they’ll keep becoming more and more nazi.

I don’t know about that, if the AfD can’t do anything to improve peoples lives I don’t think they’ll keep voting for them.

none of the parties on offer improve people’s lives, yet people vote for them anyway. i dont think that’s the purpose of AFD in the grand scheme of things anyway, they’re there to push the CDU and SPD even further right and further normalize racism and fascism.

I don’t know if they’ll be able to do that though because a large amount of the voters aren’t voting for them because they are racist or fascist.

Hopefully they win a majority. Better that they damage their brand with a majority government in a single state before they win a federal election.

They’ll just blame their failure on the federal government “blocking everything” they do. And if they win that, they’ll just blame past governments for “setting them up for failure”. And their idiot voters will believe them all the way until they abolish democracy.

Well, is this not a film we have already seen? Rise of extreme right, race to arms, conversion of the car factories into weapon factories, …mmm, what next? While we’re at a point where more European integration is needing, we are drifting further apart as European nations, and this is making us weaker rather than stronger. We’re playing the game of Trump and Putin …

Nazi Germany is building weapons factories for Israel as we speak already. The AfD is nothing but the same Nazism there is now except a bit more blatant. Like moving from Genocide Joe to Trump. The illusion of the rule of law has long been shattered let’s stop pretending the AfD is going to change that.
