As someone who dealt for way too many years with a heroin addiction, I keep reading things like this and wanting to say stuff like ‘porn addiction isn’t a real addiction.’ But TBF I’ve never had a porn addiction and don’t know what it’s like, so I can’t say that. But there are undeniable differences.
That’s a reasonable position that doesn’t invalidate the experiences of others [genuine]. There are definitely differences between heroin addiction and porn addiction, but either can be life ruining. Same but then I found out that most people I know pay close to $500/year in subscriptions alone. Some don’t even remember all the subscriptions they have! A guy at my work was saying that money was really tight and he saved a ton just by cancelling his Adobe and Capcut subscriptions. That’s on top of at least 3-4 streaming platforms as well.
