Epstein Scar | New LEGO Video from IRAN

This stuff is happening on other parts of the internet, and I think it is highly effective to engage a younger generation, and actually attempts to take over the narrative rather than the reactionary kneejerk journalism (and reposting here on Lemmy) of the “hE SaId WhAt?” brigade.

I mean this is straight up slopaganda but it’s funny at least.

And most of the ‘very progressive crowds’ here hate both parties in America but are too lazy to do the work to create an alternative so they want to tear everything down and hope someone else will create the utopia communist purity party.

The work to create an alternative party is contingent on changing First-Past-The-Post and the Electoral College. Both of which seem nearly impossible to accomplish.

The people aren’t allowed to vote directly for it. Rather only allowed to vote for representatives who can then go on to vote for that. But they wont, because they directly and massively benefit from them staying in place.

Not saying “let’s do commie utopia!”, but I definitely understand the frustration and wanting to just tear shit down…

MAGA also put their rancid cocks inside a hundred thousand toddlers, you want to follow their footsteps in that as well?

They took over the party because they all lie, cheat and steal their way into power, then follow that up by dropping all pretense of being a human being. They are the concentrated essence of what makes people think politicians are despicable animals. If all we have to look forward to is “that, except blue flavored” then maybe we really should just let it all burn.

You appear to be one of them regarding your prior comments, blaming voters for the democrats fielding candidates that can’t win and are the most unpopular they can find, not trying to be popular.

My argument is that you are trusting the establishment to run the resistance, and they are the controlled opposition. Don’t project your own lack of reason onto me here. If you don’t realize by now that fact, you never will, and you are the problem, not everyone else as those ivy league suits tell you as they sell out America.

Actually this is what I said

MAGA took over a party and leftists are still making excuses why they can’t and why it was different.

I’m directly blaming leftists for their inaction while they’re making excuses why they’re not doing anything.

I think a line can be drawn from the Tea Party to MAGA, so, 2009-2016 to get an “outsider” candidate elected and it still took until 2024 before MAGA managed to take over the party completely.

The equivalent on the Democrat side would be the DSA. The DSA was a minor, mostly irrelevant faction until Bernie’s first candidacy in 2016. It has since ballooned in membership and elected a bunch of officials across the country and it’s still growing, but they’re still in the Tea Party phase of development and struggling to find their outsider candidate. Bernie wasn’t the one, maybe next time.

So? We’re not talking about taking over the US, we’re talking about taking over the Democratic Party. It has been slower than the Tea Party’s meteoric rise (mostly a result of not being backed by billionaires) but DSA candidates are steadily winning primaries against establishment Dems and going on to win elections as well. The Tea Party started the same way, winning primaries and winning elections. The comparison is still useful for understanding what might happen in the future. It’s slower, but similar.

              slow-and-steady vs move-fast-and-break-things

I expect them to win a decent chunk of their elections in the upcoming midterms and then just continue growing after that.

The movement certainly stalled while Biden was president - opposition movements don’t grow when their party is in power - but now things are moving again because Democrats are out of power. Mamdani just defeated the Democratic establishment and went on to get elected, that takes a movement.

Notably, close to half of the DSA’s growth since the recent lows came from the Mamdani election campaign. Expect them to pick up more positions in the midterms, and more membership as people join because of their election campaigns.

I can’t read that map because dark mode and transparent background makes the text black on black but if your point is that Biden was popular enough that socialists didn’t move away from the DNC then we might finally agree on something.
