As someone who’s been in I.T for more than 2 weeks, this is objectively terrifying; not the power of Claude to make us stupid, but the complete relinquishment of agency over the means, method, and the product.
Wow is this guy gonna end up in a bind.
IMO the end-game business goal is to own the means of production for basic human actions. AI Bros love to shout how it enables everyone to do everything, but they leave off the part where they get to skim off the top because all of those activities cost tokens. You can create any image or movie you want! (But you need to pay us for the compute.) You can create you own apps! (If you have the budget for it this month.) The linked blog also fails to mention the cost factor. Sorry bro, I don’t want my OS to be powered by a subscription model.
A world where creativity and intelligence are metered utilities is the most dystopian thing I can imagine. And I really feel like that’s the world they’re trying to create.
I’m going to be extremely pedantic and explain that this post is actually pro-AI and I hate it. The original essay about the whole “you will own nothing and be happy” wasn’t a threat or a warning, it was a utopian message about goods and services being almost too cheap to charge for. It was basically saying that in the future, people will look back on the ownership of cars as silly when you can get a cleaner and more reliable ride anywhere anytime without having to deal with maintenance and other ownership headaches.
Claude handled installing Homebrew packages, creating private keys, adding them to the keychain
And probably adding the private keys to the training data and handing it to every partner who pays for it?
Well, yeah. That’s the idea.
I use Wispr Flow to talk with Claude, explain the topic and tell it to read my past blog posts to write in my style.
Does this guy really think his post doesn’t sound obviously written by AI?

Your point could have been made without an ableist slur.
