until a truly popular 3rd party candidate can honestly get enough votes. we’re stuck with the 2 we have. or until people rise up and take down the system
Or we get ranked-choice voting and other parties are a viable possibility. But of course, neither the GOP or Dems want to lose the iron grip of financing and power.
I know what you’re saying, but what you’re waiting for as a sign is logically impossible within the constraints you’ve defined. If no one votes for 3rd parties because they aren’t popular enough then they will always be too unpopular to vote for.
The real work is down-ballot, and actually getting into politics yourself. The problem is that a life in politics has been made (I think deliberately) unpalatable to smart and principled people.
still gonna vote for them over the GOP.

sadly ranked choice can still lead to 2 party system. it just ends the split vote problem. still better than first to the post https://youtu.be/s7tWHJfhiyo?is=Bk7WK95bLtDkaTYk
That’s why it has to be coupled with proportional representation in Congress.

You don’t vote 3rd party when the alternative is Trump. You vote for the leftist during primaries.

That’s why you support ranked choice cannot initiatives at the same time.
Same.
