Pretty directly: The Democrats were committing a genocide. Voting for them will not stop the genocide. The argument that “but someone else is also doing it!” doesn’t make it matter any less that you are doing it.
You are presenting a false dilemma, there are more to do than vote and there’s more than two parties.
It didn’t matter what Trump did or did not do. The fact is that you allowed the Democrats to keep doing it, and then to reward them for their bad behavior, you decided to try to elect them again. That’s how US politics has become so fucking dysfunctional. You reward bad behavior.
