It’s something I struggled with for a long time. I love animals and I don’t want to fuel the demand for dead animals. I felt guilty about eating meat from an early age. I honestly can’t say I miss eating meat. I do however miss being able to find something to eat at every fast food place. I cook at home more as a result.

I miss being able to pick something up at the grocery store and assume I can eat it. They put gelatin in everything

Are there any good vegan protein options that aren’t a legume? I’m allergic and it’s the biggest reason I haven’t considered switching. Every time I look up “vegan protein options” for ingredients and stuff, it’s always only peanuts, lentils, beans, peas, that sort of thing.

Yeah, lots of the “meat alternatives” seem to use it as a basis, too, although you’d need to check that they don’t mix in soy or pea protein…

Mushrooms, nuts and seeds is what I can still think of.

Lots of vegans do enjoy nutritional yeast. You don’t typically eat a huge amount of it, but it is around 50% protein.

There’s nut butters which can be used quite nicely in cooking. Unfortunately, they do tend to be rather expensive.

Chia seeds are also perhaps worth highlighting. If you soak them in water for long enough, they basically turn into pudding (as in, “chia pudding” is an actual dish). Well, and they also have a fairly neutral taste, so that gives them lots of flexibility in cooking, baking, cereal etc…

Definitely not one that matches the style that descriptions of an area of study is meant to have. Some sections are entirely argumentative, and the formatting for explainer sections is just wrong.

LMAO…. people will pick anything apart and figure out how to make it mean more than just what it is.

We eat meat because it’s delicious and ifs available. Those that don’t, don’t because they don’t think it’s delicious and don’t care if it’s available.

    That’s it.

Well, in the face of a Wikipedia article that supports your personal belief, of course I’m incorrect. But to anyone with a rational brain, i’m as confidently accurate is it gets.

People overindulge on overexamining, and this is the result.

It sure seems you were frustrated when writing your comments, but it still seems odd to exaggerate your point and call it rational or accurate. I’ve literally met a bunch of people who have eaten meat for other reasons than it being delicious, so clearly there’s more to it than you claim.
