Is it actually used to buy time for effective grass roots actions? Because I don’t know that I’ve ever seen actual progress made for socialism under a Democrat president. It seems to me that socialism gains the most traction under (and in direct response to) republican presidents.

If only we’d elected a cop, we could have stopped this train lmfao
And then add a few hundred people all pulling the lever in different directions. The reason the trolley is necessarily going to kill some people is because we keep putting up with the “kill less people” party instead of forcing them to take the “kill no people” track
We can’t move toward a future without trolleys as long as we keep voting in fucking trolleys. Short-term harm reduction is not worth long-term harm multiplication.

71·10 days agoEvolution can’t work if we back-slide
Like, for example, if we let a cop run the country? I agree. Let’s force the DNC to back more progressive candidates instead of more conservative ones. Signalling that you’ll vote for literally anyone with a D next to their name only incentivizes them to appeal to the right.
One sec, I’m getting a premonition… You’re going to tell me to ”vOtE iN pRiMaRiEs" as if the DNC doesn’t have a monumental sway in which candidates end up on ballots. I do vote in primaries, for the record

1·2 months agoThey don’t have him reading scripts at random. He’s Hank “Creator of Sci Show” Green. He lends an air of credibility to the channel, and the fact that they got their story about knitting so incredibly wrong damages the credibility of both him and the channel.

41·2 months agoBeen a minute since I watched it, but essentially Scishow did an episode about the science of knitting (and other forms of fabric crafting, which they did not adequately distinguish between) without consulting a single person who knits. It came off as really dismissive of the craft, like it’s somehow super surprising that knitting is actually interesting.
