This is what the “Luddite” attitude to technology actually is. It’s also important to remember that “recommendation” models are also a problem, it’s not just the slop generators that need to go.

Nope. I don’t really understand PeerTube as a mirror for YouTube.
It’s just a better site that actually works, unlike youtube.
You can set it up to autosync from a YouTube channel.
set what up? is it a site? If it’s a site, I’m probably not the one who’s in control of it.
Like Lemmy, PeerTube is a federated network of servers (but hosts videos and comments on videos)
So you can understand why “set up” sounds extremely complicated, as do accounts.
I honestly have never used peertube, but now I kind of want to. I was watching this in the iPad YT app with full-screen video, and the app kept kicking me out of full screen video to show me ads for AI in the right-hand sidebar. At that point, why even have full-screen as an option? What a miserable UX. Enshitification goes to 11.
