    I always found it stupid that countries did the “world’s tallest [x building]”. Most of the time it has no practical relevance apart from the engineering achievement. This time it’s different.

    Please, someone, tell all the Saudis, Putins, Kims, Trumps and the like. I’d love to see a race to build the highest wind turbine 😄

      If Trump built one, he’d build a coal power plant next to it and use its electricity to make the wind turbine turn against the wind, just to show his hatred for renewables.

      That’s still mostly engineering achievement, what you need is scale (if this approach of building these extra tall turbines works)

        That’s the plan. This was basically a proof-of-concept and will probably undergo a couple of months of testing and benchmarking. Once that is done they will probably start requesting building permits.
