All this may be true, BUT if an employer made and employee do what this Chinese worker was forced to do then the American employee can sue and be rich! That’s the beauty of the American capitalist democratic system. The Chinese woman can’t sue, can’t form a union and can’t have a voice. So be thankful for what you have, because the capitalist democratic system is the best system in the world.
They do have unions in China, and labor violations are typically punished much more severely in China than the US. Most labor violations in the US like wage theft and unlawful firings go unpunished. In the US if you lose your job you can quickly become homeless and have no healthcare or food, most people in these situations aren’t able to sue anyone and often become addicted to drugs or commit suicide.

There were 1500 worker strikes in 2024 according to the Hong Kong-based China Labour Bulletin, they have had numerous strikes for decades.
