Debt is not always a bad thing. USA is able to get cheap loans and invest their actual money for profit. This is similar to what investors on wall Street do. It’s just smart money management that commoners don’t take into account. Defense contractors build our most impressive weapons which are sold world wide bringing in great amounts of profit

The USA is not east Germany, there are reasons that a citizen would be not allowed to leave but usually that is criminal offenses. Unlike many communist countries, USA does not restrict movement.
