this post makes me feel so good. I’ve been saying AI is fascism for like six months, and it seems people are starting to finally understand what that actually means.
AI isn’t inherently fascist though, and all the criticims in the post can be attributed to capitalism/corporations. You can run AI on a local machine off of solar power to help with simple tasks.
It’s the system that produced ai. Sure you can use it to code at home but the thing was made to compete and dominate in a market so the function most people will use it for is to forcefully make and control markets.
The computer and the internet were also invented by the military, among other things. That doesn’t mean you are part of, or a supporter of, the military industrial complex. Are you?
