Thanks for writing this out, its my experience as well. Take the recent world cup for example, price gouging at every step of the way. The local MLS games are a little cheaper but still every food/beer/drink/snack vendor in the stadium is charging >$10 for one item. Its just crazy. Even a local baseball team that is in the junior leagues is that much now. Sorry this ended up being a rant about sports but its the same across the board. Look at malls, they are being bulldozed in our area for apartments. So what do you do for fun that doesn’t cost $100…there are outdoor activities in parks and local sports facilities if your town is lucky to have them. I guess this is just me rambling about how expensive even the cheap and fun things used to be. Sigh.
I’m in the Midwest. Everything here is dirt cheap. But I do enjoy bowling. Not trying to derail that everything costs money to do anything now. Thank God it’s a real alley and not the restaurant themed alleys you were talking about in another post.
just off the top, im sure theres plenty of other anecdotes

Tried bowling lately?
really fucking expensive
And that’s only if you find an alley still operating that hasn’t been turned into a primarily bowling themed restaurant.
And here I thought it was just my local alley. Guess not.
My alley has a good deal. $20 for 2 hours of bowling, shoe rental included. Beer buckets are kind of expensive at 5 for $18 for miller lites
Nice! You are very lucky (assuming you like bowling).
