I think their email used unfortunate wording where it doesn’t specify just a part of Zed is 18+. Their blog post does a better job: “Age requirement. You must be 18 or older to use Zed’s AI-enabled software-as-a-service offering (the “Service”)."

that said, this is prolly somewhat already trivial by setting an os/global environment var. and just having that bubbled up to the browser/app level. theres already paths for this to be used, but again… adoption is far more difficult than the technology required.

its cheap and has decreased my time-to-mediacenter drastically… the public torrent indexers kinda pale in comparison.
i like to have them all in there, but the usenet/nzb stuff seems to flow the fastest as theres generally more likely a matching file of %quality.
ive been buildin ‘solutions’ like this for 30 years. what the llms have done is reduce my time to maybe a few minutes, and lowers the barrier to entry to the technically ignorant.
lowering that barrier still leaves a non-insignificant portion who want it bundled up and handed to them with a bow on it. plenty of people are happy to pay for a supported product and have no desire to attempt resolving the underlying issue/resource themselves.
entire nas (~24TB used) is replicated to another nas in another building (2 actually). i like having 3 copies.
