    for a bit of nuance: the majority of latin america mercernaries work for the Ukranian Foreign Legion. and their salaries is a less than half of what Russia pays it mercernaries. so both are exploiting the poorest of the poor. and Ukraine is doind it for cheaper.

    An important chunk of the LATAM mercenaries working for ukraine are actual criminals and ex gang members who have been approached by semi-official gov agencies and foreign spy corps to fight for Ukraine in exchange for reduced sentences and clearance of their criminal records. and in some cases like in Columbia and Mexico, their have been arrangements with local social security services to facilitate the process of receiving insurance money if they die fighting for Ukraine.
