    You’re comparing total sales, but a flop is about return on investment. How much did Hyundai spend on R&D and new tooling and manufacturing to create the 6, plus how much of that can be reused for other similar vehicles, plus what was the profit margin for the car, plus how many cars were built. Now, compare that to the Cybertruck that has likely very little reusability in manufacturing, all new tooling, tons of R&D, and tons of unsold cars.

      So unless you have a lot of very specific knowledge, that’s going to be beyond the layman to do. This article didn’t cover any of those costs in its comparison beteeen the Edsel and the CT. They compared sales numbers. Anything else would be cool to know, but aren’t really important in terms of what was compared here.

      EVs are now mostly skateboard designs, they can drop another body style on and off quickly.
