The only IT departments I’ve seen who are more overworked and under qualified than government is health care and educational institutions.
And this isn’t even on the IT department themselves. It’s the usual suspect: 3rd party vendor contracted to store data. But yes, the point still stands that they are overworked, underpaid, and sometimes underqualified.
If they weren’t overworked and underpaid they wouldn’t need third parties for that stuff.
