If they are interested in us, I doubt it’s to enslave us in any worse way then we already are. If they are interested in our raw materials for some reason they wouldn’t be looking by shouting out random introductions and will find us randomly. That’s my take anyway.
I haven’t read it yet, but the premise seems ludicrous from reading a synopsis. Like you probably have to pass god knows how many livable planets just to get here.

It’s not about finding habitat, but a large scale version of kill or be killed, or stay quiet and hope they don’t see you.
