  • lol yeah, I am in a position where I can say stuff like that. also he generally tends to listen as long as people actually have a point. but he is super pro AI.

he didn’t really have a response to it. he doesn’t seem to get that not everything needs to be AI. he thinks it will enable people to do more better work, and kind of seems to ignore the possibility that not everybody will get to use it like he does - some people will have to validate the output. he seems to think that it will get to the point where people don’t need to validate the output, it will be like entering numbers into a calculator and the result is trusted (or, at least certified good enough).

  • that function is just reskinned OCR, though

which I guess you could consider as AI and that it is a similar training data structure? not my area lol

I do also think that AI has some use as a search engine. I haven’t used it much for this purpose at all, but a while back there was a specific type of engineering analysis I needed to do, and I couldn’t remember the exact terms or topics to look up. chat GPT got me into the right area so I could look at the appropriate resources. in that specific scenario, it was better than a standard search engine

Of course once I found the materials I was looking for, I stopped using the chat bot and you know use those materials

  • that’s how I understand it as well. but I’m not familiar with using wishlists or Amazon anymore so I can’t be sure that’s what it means

but, uh, yeah this seems fine?

they’re adding functionality by allowing wishlists to use third party sold items. you don’t have to use third party sellers, just don’t put those on your list

as long as this is clearly explained and identifiable on product pages, and it can’t change without you knowing about it and having time to respond, this seems fine?
