From my understanding, they might still be able to develop a fully open source printhead that is compatible with the printer and sell it separately, but developing a copy of the said printer will be a breach of the patent.

5·3 months agomaybe a dumb question but isn’t a hetzner instance directly connected to one’s identity? I remember when setting up mine, they asked for ID verification. If so then the outgoing IP which is public is linked to my ID and would be a bigger risk of itself. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Maybe by then openprinter would have migrated to their ink standard and started producing it. Old models’ ink cartridges can still be refilled but not changed.
