I never really believed that montra of if they were successful they lose a customer. I met my wife on a dating site over 13 years ago and told everyone I knew about it and how good it was. Many of the people that I told tried the site. It’s a great way to spread your business if anything then through natural word of.mouth you actually kinda weed out people who are looking for the wrong things. Unfortunately the one I used ok cupid was bought by the big conglomerate and they change it so it was just like all the others. The other place I see it working is if governments offered the service because they want people to be matched up. I get people might not trust the government to match them up but why would you trust a company to do it then.

I’m saying you don’t get to decide what other people do in public. You want to be able to control everyone and force them to act the way you want them to act. A lot of public camera share up on a pole or building and most people do t know it’s there. Also how do you decide a camera is visible enough.

At how expensive it would be to get the water it wouldn’t make sense to ship the water off to somewhere else that already has water.

I know this is in the EU and I’m in the US but unfortunately to keep people honest you need to be able to record them in public. It’s a double edged sword yeah people will do perverted thing but there is no perfect solution.

Why stop at elected officials any company has to do this. If they can infringe our rights why not make sure everyone has their rights taken away.

Honestly we aren’t that far off from that. We don’t have many 15 year old EVs but you can get a 8 year old used EV for 8K. I think you got incredibly lucky to get a 15 year old car that doesn’t need it’s transmission or engine or some other significant part replaced. Like others said you doing it yourself is what made your repairs much cheaper and to be honest you would be able to do the same thing on EVs for everything other than the battery and motors but depending on the brand you could fix broken batteries as well.

Solar costs about 40c/watt installed at large scale and the grid on average uses 2 GW. Cuba gets on average 4.4 solar hours a day let’s use 4. So that means you need to install 12 GW of capacity plus batteries. Let’s make it 24gw so there’s power on cloudy days. That means for solar it would cost roughly 10 billion. Battery storage somewhere around 20 gwh would cost another 4billion. So for 14 billion you could get almost the entire grid off oil and onto solar. For perspective at 100$/ barrel it would only be 3 -4 yrs of oil consumption. It sounds like China could easily make an investment like that especially since it would stimulate chinas economy since they would be making and selling the panels+batteries. I know I simplified a ton but with that much battery storage you could distribute them to maximize the grid. Effectively distributing power more evenly throughout the day. Also the grid is already used to blackouts brown outs so worst case you black some sections out of its been too many cloudy days in a row.

To be honest I would love a waffle maker like this where some parts of the waffle are a little undercooked and other parts crispy.

You can’t really consume water especially if you take it out of the air. Worst case you temporarily barrow it till it evaporates again it’s not like the water is suddenly gonna be pumped out to the ocean or something.
