Maybe. But it will be funny for a little bit when the data starts showing the average age of a Californian is over 200 years.

Because it’s not that crazy or authoritarian and is basically what most websites already do to “verify” you age (which is to say nothing but asking you your age). But the onus is now being put on OS makers, with an additional clause to build an API for other developers to access so they also can “know” a user’s age.

The law does not require photo ID uploads or facial recognition, with users instead simply self-reporting their age

Except that one cool thing with AR is being able to have it tell what you’re looking at is. Not just positioning things in space. A lot of cool shit that could be done with AR, like real time text translation, object identification, etc needs some kind of camera, even if it just sees IR light. Lotta cool shit needs a microphone, too.

They were hacking cars with any kind of computer in them and even able to remotely control some newer models at the time when I was in high school. 20 years down the road, car makers have not done anything to improve security against such hacks, and also have added more computerization.

It was never meant to part of any kind of database, but banks and businesses found a loophole to that a long ass time ago and now we’re here.
