I’ve been using Backblaze buckets to hold data I serve to friends with GameVault, and a few other things. Sitting at just shy of 1TB if memory serves? I’m paying about 4 bucks a month.
If you serve it through cloudflare, you aren’t charged for bandwidth. Which works out nicely because I use a cloudflare worker to redirect all download requests in GameVault. Super speedy downloads for my users, zero bandwidth coming off my home network.
It really comes down to what you mean by humidity. “Dew point” can be negative, but humidity cannot.

My only resistance to leaving discord is that it’s where 99% of my gaming communities are. There’s no way I’m convincing hundreds of people to move off to something I self host, or to self host themselves. It’s just not feasible.
Most kids phones are hand me downs from parents these days. At least they were with my kids other than the first line purchase, and most of their friends. A 6 year old with an iPhone 11 wouldn’t be that weird.

Honestly your best bet is to use a paid service, which I hate because it adds yet another cost to raising kids. It would just be great if device manufacturers could get their shit together and not relegate parental controls to the third party market.

The thing that gets you in a corpo environment is that they fully log your browsing, so yeah you managed to find fuckmyfacesilly.com that wasn’t blocked, but you’re going to have a little talk with management as soon as someone checks the logs.

There’s a way to “sideload” it (not technically side loading) but it’s quite annoying.

I stopped pirating when we got a Netflix sub for reasonably cheap.
I started pirating again when I realized we were subbed to six different platforms, paying over $1k a year for the content, and still couldn’t watch what we wanted sometimes. The fact that I had to jump through hoops to find the thing I wanted to watch was also quite infuriating.

I will admit forcing a form factor is ill advised, but it should be possible to purchase a legal and permanent copy of said production in one form or another. Even if that is digitally, so long as it can be downloaded and doesn’t need some sort of online/phone home solution to play it.
