minus-squareripcord@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2arrow-down2·2 days agoI do a lot of remote sharing with friends and unfortunately it’s not great for that. Also the last time I checked it out the clients kinda sucked. Not even one for Apple TV
minus-squarezewm@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·2 days agoHuh? I watch my Jellyfin on AppleTV just fine.
minus-squareripcord@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·2 days agoMaybe there was one added since I last checked, or I’m just dumb. Good chance of the latter. Edit: oh, 3rd-party clients? I had tried one but they wanted a fucking subscription fee
minus-squarezewm@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·2 days agoNope. No subscription fee. Just the regular Jellyfin client. I run the server from my PC and watch on the client in my TV. All free.
minus-squareripcord@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·2 days agoWill try again. Though not having stupid simple friend sharing is still a dealbreaker for me
minus-squareAppoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.comlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·2 days agoI tried it out while I was at a friends place (streaming remotely from two internet connections). Even the sync play worked very well (the delay between pressing pause and it executing was about 1-1.5 seconds). Almost better than watch2gether.
