The NDP basically shot themselves in the face. Eby’s election night speech was basically “thank fuck I can step down, I’m tired”.
The whole vote was a gigantic clusterfuck, to the point that I don’t think it’s all that reasonable to say people voted in support of the cons in any way shape or form. They voted against the gongshow NDP, and the NDP made it so that the only alternative was the shitty chaotic conservative party, that didn’t even have a ‘permanent’ leader. Eby controlled the starting pistol for the race, tried to start it when he had no opponent at the starting line, and then proceeded to fucking lose the race.
