Do people really put the bubbles on the outside? The bubbles have much thinner plastic than the smooth side; it seems intuitively obvious that you put the softer bubble against the thing being protected and the thicker plastic towards the outside world.
That’s not how I use bubble wrap either. I sandwich the bubble wrap (bubbles facing inward so they interlock together taking up more of the void space between them) and then wrap my item in that, smooth sides facing in toward the item and out toward the box.
