    Meanwhile most everything on Amazon is on aliexpress for half the price, and Taobao for a quarter of the price.

      And the EU have blanket taxed everything from there; now I have to buy of Amazon to avoid the taxes.

      Which feels like it was the goal of those tariffs.

      At least Amazon is local seller while Aliexpress and Taobao is 100% from china. If getting stuff cheap is your goal regardless the long term economic impact, go for it.

      Edit: on the other hand, Taobao/aliexpress might actually have the thing you want that you can’t find in Amazon.
