Google’s Android developer verification rule gets its first real-world test on September 30, 2026. In Brazil, Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand, installing or updating an app on a certified Android device will require that app’s developer to be registered with Google.
Ah well then it’s all fine. Of course Google should get to impose a moratorium on me installing software on a device I’ve bought. That’s only sensible.
