At this point I highly doubt there’s a big difference between AfD and CDU doing opposition work.
Sure, but the symbolism and framing would be different, and for the many people less well-informed than us, that makes a difference.
The AfD is a “young” party (even if their ideas aren’t), which makes them a greater threat. They represent a challenge against the establishment, perhaps even more so than the SPD.
Either way, I hope they shoot themselves in the foot harder than they sabotage the left. There’s a chance for things to get better, and I hope it will be realised.
