The pro-Israel, so-called ‘Jewish Greens‘ group of the Green Party have followed their pro-genocide manoeuvres to block an anti-Zionism conference motion with an attack on the Canary. The group, which labelled the Greens’ Jewish party leader as ‘antisemitic’ for opposing genocide, successfully filibustered the “Zionism is Racism” motion tabled at the last party conference. Now it is trying to push through a motion condemning the Canary for covering their manoeuvres.

The group, better named ‘Greens for genocide’, has targeted the Canary’s coverage and in particular a guest article by anti-Zionist academic Prof David Miller. Miller is well known for establishing anti-Zionism as a legally-protected philosophy. Unsurprisingly, his thoroughly-sourced dissection of the group’s tactics to kill the anti-genocide motion pulls no punches.

The full, long-winded motion that the group wants the Greens’ conference to pass claims that the Canary’s coverage has been “badly evidenced or unevidenced” and implies, without evidence, that the coverage is misogynistic and will lead to antisemitism. Unsurprisingly, no lawsuits have been brought and no complaints lodged with regulator IMPRESS that the Canary is aware of. Instead, the group has opted for ‘trial by conference’.

Any person who remains member of a hardcore Zionist pro genocide group like that is a hardcore Zionist.

Liberal Zionists are also just Zionists

It isn’t a hardcore Zionist pro genocide group as far as I’ve heard but a mix. There is a tiny minority that are hardcore and are using it for political cover to pull their bullshit.

Liberal Zionists are also just Zionists

Well yes. That was the point of putting ‘moderate’ in inverted commas. They’re no different than the white moderates that MLK highlighted in his Birmingham Gaol letters. They are in effect no different than the mother and son duo that are doing all the shit stirring as their intransigence creates cover for them.

My point still stands though that the overwhelming majority of the party are pro-Palestine. If the motion ‘Zionism is racism’ goes through at the up coming conference then hopefully the ‘moderate’ Zionists will leave the party so that there’s no cover for the militant entryists.

Lol so? The rest of them are letting them do it.

They are doing it in the name of Jewish Greens and the rest of Jewish Greens are in the end on board with it. I don’t care about internal disputes. I care about their final decision. They are speaking on behalf of the majority of Jewish Greens and abusing their Jewish Greens identity to support genocide. If the rest of Jewish Greens aren’t on board with it they can either set their foot down and not allow them to do it, or quit the org and go do something else.

Replace the word Zionist with Nazi and you get* “hopefully the ‘moderate’ Nazi’s will leave the party so that there’s no cover for the militant entryists.”*

You’re either a Nazi and believe in White (in this case Jewish) supremacy, or you don’t. There are no “moderates” in this.

You gotta think of the Green Party as more of a library than a bar. I can’t kick someone out of the library if they aren’t breaking any rules. Changing the rules to exclude a particular group of people needs careful drafting and implementation. If the party just kicked out the organisation Jewish Greens it would wholely diminish any future effort by pro Palestine greens to put pressure on the government over Israel. It would also cripple the party in elections as the overwhelming majority of voters are blinkered when it comes to media consumption. And this in turn would free the hand of the actually Zionist parties that run our government to continue sucking on the Western hegemon’s teat.

No I’m talking about Jewish Greens. They have Zionist dogwhistling as a main point on their website

            https://jewishgreens.greenparty.org.uk/

            United against antisemitism

We provide a Jewish voice within the Green Party united against all forms of racism, including antisemitism,

And they use IHRA as their definition of course

The IHRA definition of antisemitism provides guidance with regard to the state of Israel. In reference to the example: ‘Denying the Jewish people their right to self determination, e.g., by claiming that the existence of a State of Israel is a racist endeavour.’ P

              Your concerns are mine too.

I hope that the Zionism is racism motion purges all the bad faith actors out of the party. I don’t think it will happen overnight but it will at least demonstrate that the party is not systemically/democratically compromised.

The fall out of this up coming conference will illuminate the matter.

I am not a member. A few close friends are active members. I refuse to join until there is clarity (positive) on what we have discussed.
