In the weeks after 9/11 I worked hard trying to figure out the why. It was still the early days of the internet so while misinformation wasn’t quite as prevalent, solid information was still difficult to find.

It took me nearly ten years to understand why.

I get it. I’m sorry. I wish I didn’t have to learn it after something like 9/11. But the US has done more 9/11’s to them long before they got the US once.

I wish we as a country had learned it so much sooner. Might have saved us not just from 9/11 but the madness of today as well.

Soon after 9/11, I remember hearing, “they hate you because you don’t know why they hate you”.

    TL;Dr:
Donvict Drumpf is why I hate america.

    Long version.
I’m old, and from the UK.
In the 70s to 90s I didn’t have much thought about the us, it was there but I didn’t much think about it. It was just there. Yeah, thatcher (via Reagan) was fucking things up but I didn’t know by how much. And I was too complacent and stupid to realise it was a Reagan thing doing it.

A year or so after 2001 I didn’t hate it, I tolerated it…because I had to. I grew sick of the self aggrandisising bullshit from over there, but there was nothing I could do. I got annoyed at the usa usa chants during things like the Olympics etc etc, but I tolerated it.
I got bored of the “best country in the world” crap, but, meh, let them convince themselves. They are only hurting themselves…

About 2010, or so, I passively stopped buying anything from the us, but I didn’t hate it. It was just no more McDs or Subway’s etc. No more going to the cinema to watch their movies.
Which was mainly bombastic propaganda crap anyways. If a title of any movie starts with america then I automatically won’t want to watch it.
american sniper. american psycho… Fuck. Off. with that fucking bullshit.

Now then, let’s get to the meat on the bones! The year was 2016 and a certain orange puss filled disgusting scumbag was running for president.
And I, I’m ashamed to say, I thought it was hilarious. I mean, how could anyone take this imbecile seriously? HOW? I’m from the UK and even I know that that thing bankrupted casinos and is a con’man’
There was no way that thing could win, haha…haha, right? Ha and ha?
Oh no. Oh no no no no. WHAT?

    FUCKING HELL.

Now I’m beginning to really not like the us at all. Not hate, per se, but actively dislike.

This dislike grew and grew. Then in 2020 Covid happened and the amount of stupid and corruption amassed to such levels that I began to live in disbelief. Not hate, I was just flummoxed.

Then Biden happened and I hoped things could get back on track…but that old fool slow walked the investigations and prosecutions that I finally realised that no fucker in charge over there had any real courage or decency. But it could get any worse…right?

Then Epstein’s child rape buddy was allowed to become president again, even though everyone knows. And now I hate what america has become. Not all the population, just about ⅔rds of it. The ones who either voted for it, or could’ve voted against it but didn’t.
Now I actively will not buy anything american. I have also stopped using american products unless I absolutely can’t find another way to get around it. No Google etc etc. I even check to see if the food I buy is owned by a us company.

And I will never go back. Ever. The us had its chance to show remorse by trying and convicting an easily proven traitor and child rapist, but didn’t. And I have hate because of that.

This headline perfectly illustrates how you can say nothing at all.

Who is the US? Are we talking about some of the citizens? The president? The military? And then who is they? And who is us?

We can use all of these pronouns and generic categories and if we don’t actually specify the people in them, then nobody learns anything. And if you can’t, write an informative headline, maybe you shouldn’t be a journalist.

As we all know, any good article worth its reading time has a preamble defining each of the words it uses and reads like a legal doc.
