It’s pretty standard equipment on planes I’m assuming, lots of uses for it.
So wait, what did the guy do? Reading the article linked it basically sounds like “some guy was verbally being a dick, so a former cop and his friend decided to jump the guy and tape him up.” The pictures show him bruised and bleeding and he looks out cold.
I feel like I could bust out of that much duct tape. Madness is wasted on the old.

Some bullies thought it would be a fun “prank” to duct tape me to a support pillar. But they did a pretty shit job of it and I was able to shrug it off without too much effort. They looked very sad about that.
Shitty. But, anything that makes a bully sad can’t be all bad.
I had a bully and I never did get to put them in their place myself, but I at least got to watch them crash and burn in the end.
It’s such a good feeling. I snapped when mine was beating me with a branch, and it took 3 people to drag me off him.
He never bothered me again, but I did have to go to therapy.
Fuck, free therapy. Mine was on the boxing team though, it’s probably lucky I didn’t snap.
Tape job wasn’t that great because I think a few passengers basically had to sit on him to restrain him during landing. He was trying to get up to hit people.
If I’m one of those passengers having to pull a Nurse Ratchet on some mad bastard, I better be getting free drinks for the rest of that flight.

I read one a few days ago, there’s def a picture of the guy being sat on.
If their faces weren’t blurred, and people could see what an utter berk they looked like adhered to the seat, less people might indulge in such behaviour.

I didn’t read this article because I read it somewhere else the other day. It said zip-ties and duct tape are common equipment on passenger flights for exactly this purpose (restraining someone).
Theyre also load bearing components for when the mechanics fix the plane
