Laptops have it where they used to have thunderbolt 3. usb4 is basically just standardizing and opening tb3.
You might notice linux using a usb4 module to support older tp3 ports for that reason.
Desktops still barely even have usbC, so thunderbolt or usb4 never really got to them.
