    “Sideloading” is anti-property-rights loaded language.

What’s actually happening here is that they are trying to gatekeep and demonize normal installing and replace it with their nanny-installing instead.

At this point, we should start taking Google at face value and hold them responsible when something they vetted has malware or does anything else illegal. The same for Apple.

They would switch their policies very fast.

I suspect that they promise to do something then ask accountants, do nothing and blame side loading. Me, I’m really hoping that Linux, graphene OS, lineage, eOSand similar enter exponential growth to create an actual market of options. Fuck google

In only skimmed over the post but didn’t see any date when it will come into effect. Somebody can clarify?

Need to daily drive Graphene before switching the main phone.

At the end of the article it says

September 2026: Roll-out in Brazil, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand

      2027 and beyond: global roll-out

I misunderstood that as only the registering for devs.

I have time to see the Motorola graphene and Linux phones luckily
