Yeah, I’m sure the people are happy that they were lied to and that the military dictatorship that took over the country in a military coup decided to stay in power as a military dictatorship instead of returning to a democracy like they promised 🙄
The people are helping the government to build massive roadways connecting major cities that have been until now, connected by mud roads that take days to travel and leave people stranded. Now they look like major European road systems. Built for a fraction of the price that was quoted and in a fraction of the time. He is literally transforming the country. I think I’ll give him 2 seconds benefit of doubt. People seem pretty happy.
Politics in general are always more complicated then they look, even more so for Africa and especially Burkina Faso and go a head and double that if you are an outsider. But a military dictatorship that doesn‘t keep its own promises about returning to democracy has never been a good thing. Not for the west, Russia or China but for the people themselves.
I would have you look to Singapore and their still well beloved dictator who brought them into the modern age. As you say, it is always more complicated than it looks.
No, fuck you, i have every right to speak up for every repressed people forced to live under a military dictatorship. He’s fucked up, and you’re fucked up for defending him
I wasn’t sure how to interpret the situation until i read this
Perhaps you should look at African sources and see if the people are happy.
