I saw this today. I am gonna be watching this mans journey with great interest. The last litho channel I saw was at the level of transistor density of the 80s. Found it! the Z2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IS5ycm7VfXg

Does anyone know what the current best “youtuber” cpu is?

There was someone who wrote up a bootstrapping guide for technology assuming an apocalypse sent us back to sticks and stones. I think that guide went much further back on the level of lithography you could meaningfully get to while restarting tech.

I am curious what size features this guy can create in his lab.

I’m guessing he can’t really do much of a chip per se. Sounds more like he can do only base components.

There are other YouTubers who have managed to make meaningful chips (on the order of 1000 transistors) out of basically a garage setup with salvaged and/or improvised equipment. I would be shocked if this guy can’t do better than that with his much more sophisticated setup.

AI was clearly used to write the script for this video. That’s super disappointing, and I hope AI wasn’t used to generate any other part of this.

    For example, at 1:27:

You don’t just walk into the cleanroom, you transition into it.

Classic bizarre LLM style. I’m not going to support any creator on Patreon who can’t even be bothered to use their own words to communicate.
