The problem with leaving IG behind is all my friends are on there. None of them are on Pixelfed.
Famous people with hundreds of thousands followers could change this. They have the critical mass. Their followers will automatically follow. Does anybody have direct access to such people? Who can then spread the word in those circles…🫤
EDIT : I meant celebrities, not influencers.

    It’s a chicken-and-egg scenario. The famous people want everyone to already be on the platform waiting for them.

    I use Pixelfed to look at nice art and photography and don’t feel much need for the people I know to be using it. Mastodon could be quite cool though
