The warning underscores growing concerns about how future decisions—on issues including abortion rights, affirmative action and election law—could affect public trust in the court and the stability of U.S. law.
Well no shit. That was the whole point of project 2025, to fully undermine all faith in all branches and both parties of the government.
They haven’t yet realized, I think, that those saloon doors swing both ways.
The Roberts court destroyed the constitution, rule of law, and precedence. He isn’t just a political actor, but a Benedict Arnold.
There’s a reason its called precedent. Its established, highly regarded law. Seen as truth setting and foundational. When you overturn not just one such precedent, but all of the ones a political party has campaigned against, you’re a political actor there John.
We should start calling him Johnny Reb at this point too. Bet he’d love it.
Overturning precedent by itself isn’t good or bad. Until Loving vs Virginia, anti-miscegenation laws were established and highly regarded; until Brown vs BoE, the same was true of segregation. The issue isn’t how old the laws are, but what they say.
I think they view us as truly political actors, which I don’t think is an accurate understanding of what we do. I would say that’s the main difficulty
“Absent a stay, the Clean Power Plan will cause (and is causing) substantial and irreversible reordering of the domestic power sector before this court has an opportunity to review its legality,” Roberts wrote
Thank you, Newsweek, for including the quote undercutting his own words.
Pathetic crooked punk who uses his wife as a bribe VPN.
Fuck this guy.
Too late Roberts- you’ve allowed the court to devolve to such depravity that neither side thinks the court is impartial.
