  • CAFE regulations are based on vehclicle footprint as of 2012. That’s why all the small trucks suddenly disappeared from the market that year. They had stricter fuel-economy standards than a sedan. The giant vehicles we’re gettimg today is the result of regulations that make it easier to just keep making vehicles bigger than to make them more efficient.

People will pay good money for a 15yo Ranger because you can’t get an equivalent vehicle new. The marketing to make oversized cars trendy is to prevent competition for the new vehicles coming from the used market.

  • She’s a POS, but I also think she was a true believer. She went to Washington wanting to expose a cabal of political and business elites that were raping children. She found it, and when it turned out to be her own party she was told to shut up and pretend it didn’t exist. When she continued calling for accountability, the machine she had been part of turned on her.

My hope is that the regular people who supported her see what happened and realize they’ve been duped by the Epstein class and fallen into a dark pit of fear, hate, and prejudice.

We can’t simply write-off half the country. We need to give them the chance to learn from their mistakes and move forward.

And, to be clear, forgivejustice. everyday voters who were misled doesn’t require compromise. And those who planned or actually took part in the attrocities (ICE and CBP goons, members of the military who followed illegal orders, politicians, business leaders, etc) must face jutice.

  • It’s not that they don’t expect there to be Greek food or that they won’t want to eat Greek food. It’s that Americans used to having a huge variety of food available, and may need to be warned that they will not have that available.

I can get pretty much any style cuisine (my choice betweem authentic or Americanized version) for lunch any day. I could have Bao on Monday, Schnitzel on Tuesday, Tikka Masala on Wednesday, Carne Guisada on Thursday, and Injera on Friday all without having to travel more than 5 minutes.

And it’s not just urban areas. Even the tiny backwoods town my parents live in has country cooking, Mexican, Chinese, and Italian restaurants (though the Chinese and Italian are really bad)

  • That’s what’s on the table now, but it doesn’t look good.

The Supremely Court is about to rule, essentially, on whether states can even attempt to sue the oil companies over the states’ climate-change-related expenses.

The danger for the oil companies right now isn’t final Judgement from those lawsuits, but the discovery process. If the states are allowed to proceed, the oil companies have to turn over records, which will then become public. It’s not only damning socially, but they’ll also show that they lied to their investors, and THAT would trigger a mountain of lawsuits that could do real damage.

But with the current Court, I’m not hopeful.

  • I’m not building a PC or buying a computer because I can make due with what I have a few years longer. But I do desperately need a new laptop at the office, so work is paying an outrageous sum of money for a new computer.

I’m also getting a few new employees - each of which is gonna need a computer

It businesses, not hobbyists paying these increased prices.
